AMAZONITE TUMBLE
AMAZONITE TUMBLE
Amazonite
This beautiful Amazonite Tumble is one of the most instantly recognizable and soothing stones in the crystal world — its fresh blue-green color and gentle, truth-enhancing energy make it an exceptional companion for anyone seeking to communicate with clarity and courage, or simply to bring a sense of calm, hopeful clarity into their daily life.
Note: Despite its name, Amazonite is not found in the Amazon River region. It is also known as Amazon Stone or Amazon Jade (though it is not related to Jade). Its blue-green color is caused by lead and water within the crystal structure — not copper, as was historically believed.
Where It Is Found
Amazonite is found in several locations worldwide, with major sources in Russia (Ural Mountains), Brazil, United States (Colorado's Pikes Peak region, famous for exceptional specimens), Madagascar, Ethiopia, and Peru.
Mineral Class / Geology
Amazonite is a variety of Microcline Feldspar (potassium aluminum silicate, KAlSi₃O₈) in the Tectosilicate mineral class, with a hardness of 6–6.5 on the Mohs scale. It forms primarily in granitic pegmatites. Its blue-green color is caused by lead and water within the Microcline crystal structure. The characteristic white streaks visible in many pieces are Albite Feldspar exsolution lamellae within the Microcline.
Colors
Amazonite displays a fresh blue-green to teal color — from pale mint and seafoam green to vivid turquoise-blue — often with characteristic white streaks or patches of Albite Feldspar.
Metaphysical Properties
