PEACH MOONSTONE TUMBLE
PEACH MOONSTONE TUMBLE
Peach Moonstone
This beautiful Peach Moonstone Tumble is one of the most warmly nurturing and emotionally supportive stones in the crystal world — its soft peach to cream tones and gentle adularescent glow carry a tender, heart-centered energy of self-love, emotional healing, and divine feminine wisdom that makes it an exceptional companion for anyone on a journey of inner healing and self-compassion.
Note: Peach Moonstone is a color variety of Moonstone (Orthoclase Feldspar) that displays warm peach, apricot, and cream tones rather than the classic white or grey. Like all Moonstone, it displays adularescence — a floating, billowing glow of light beneath the surface caused by light scattering between internal feldspar layers. Moonstone is the birthstone for June and the traditional gemstone of the Moon in many cultures worldwide.
Where It Is Found
Peach Moonstone is found in several locations worldwide, with major sources in India (the primary commercial source of Peach Moonstone, particularly from Tamil Nadu and other southern states), Sri Lanka (historically the most prized source of classic white Moonstone, known as "Ceylon Moonstone"), Madagascar, Tanzania, and Myanmar (Burma). India produces the majority of the Peach Moonstone available in the crystal market today.
Mineral Class / Geology
Peach Moonstone is a variety of Orthoclase Feldspar (potassium aluminum silicate, KAlSi₃O₈) belonging to the Tectosilicate mineral class, with a hardness of 6–6.5 on the Mohs scale. It forms primarily in granitic pegmatites and metamorphic rocks. Moonstone's characteristic optical phenomenon — adularescence — is caused by the alternating layers of two different Feldspar minerals (Orthoclase and Albite) within the crystal structure. Light entering the stone scatters between these internal layers, producing the characteristic floating, billowing glow. The name "adularescence" comes from Adular — an old name for Orthoclase Feldspar from the Adula Mountains of Switzerland, where fine Moonstone was historically found. Peach Moonstone's warm peach to apricot color is caused by trace amounts of iron within the Orthoclase crystal structure. The combination of the warm peach color and the adularescent glow creates a uniquely soft, luminous appearance.
Colors
Peach Moonstone displays warm peach, apricot, and cream tones with a soft, floating adularescent glow — a billowing light that moves beneath the surface as the viewing angle changes. The adularescence ranges from a soft white to a warm golden glow depending on the specimen and lighting conditions.
