SEPTARIAN PALM STONE
SEPTARIAN PALM STONE
Septarian
This beautiful Septarian Palm Stone is perfectly shaped to hold during meditation — its smooth surface reveals a stunning natural mosaic of golden Calcite, brown Aragonite, and grey Limestone, and its ancient seafloor origins make it an exceptional companion for grounding, patience, and connecting with the deep wisdom of the Earth.
Where It Is Found
Septarian nodules are found in several locations worldwide, with major commercial sources in Madagascar (the primary source of most Septarian in the crystal market), Utah, USA (Bear River Formation), Morocco, and New Zealand.
Mineral Class / Geology
Septarian is a sedimentary concretion composed of multiple minerals — typically Calcite (yellow to golden), Aragonite (brown), and Limestone (grey). Its hardness varies from 3–4 on the Mohs scale. Septarian nodules formed on ancient seafloors 50–70 million years ago when organic matter became the nucleus of a mineral concretion. As the concretion dried and shrank, it cracked (from the Latin septum, meaning "partition"), and these cracks were subsequently filled by mineral-rich groundwater depositing the golden Calcite and brown Aragonite that create the distinctive mosaic pattern.
Colors
Septarian displays a striking natural mosaic of golden yellow to honey Calcite filling the cracks, brown to dark brown Aragonite forming the crack walls, and grey Limestone as the host matrix — a bold, geometric, stained-glass-like pattern completely unique to each piece.
