Mineral Class / Geology

Amazonite is a variety of Microcline Feldspar (KAlSi₃O₈) in the Tectosilicate mineral class, with a hardness of 6–6.5 on the Mohs scale. It forms in granitic pegmatites. Its blue-green color is caused by lead and water within the Microcline crystal structure, and the characteristic white streaks are Albite Feldspar exsolution lamellae.

Amazonite displays a fresh blue-green to teal color — from pale mint to vivid turquoise-blue — often with characteristic white Albite streaks. The point form showcases these fresh tones across its polished faces.
