Where It Is Found
Bumble Bee Jasper is found exclusively in West Java, Indonesia, near the Mount Papandayan volcano, where it forms in volcanic fumarole deposits. Its limited source location makes it a relatively rare and sought-after stone.

Bumble Bee Jasper is a sedimentary rock composed of volcanic matter, anhydrite (calcium sulfate), sulfur, arsenic sulfide minerals, and hematite. Its hardness is approximately 5 on the Mohs scale. Its distinctive yellow and orange bands are caused by sulfur and arsenic sulfide minerals, while the black bands are caused by hematite inclusions. Important: Contains arsenic — wash hands after handling and do not use in water.
