STILBITE TUMBLE
STILBITE TUMBLE
Stilbite
This beautiful Stilbite Tumble is one of the most gently loving and heart-opening stones in the crystal world — its soft peach to salmon to white color and deeply calming energy of unconditional love, inner peace, and restful sleep make it an exceptional companion for anyone seeking to open their heart, quiet their mind, and connect with a sense of profound inner stillness.
Note: Stilbite is a member of the Zeolite mineral group — a family of hydrated aluminosilicate minerals that form in volcanic rocks and are known for their gentle, high-vibrational energy. In its natural crystal form, Stilbite displays a distinctive bow-tie or sheaf-of-wheat crystal habit — fan-shaped clusters of intergrown crystals that are immediately recognizable. Stilbite is most commonly found in association with Apophyllite and Scolecite in the famous zeolite deposits of India.
Where It Is Found
Stilbite is found in several locations worldwide, with the most spectacular and commercially significant deposits in India — particularly the Deccan Traps of Maharashtra state (the Pune district, including the famous Nashik and Aurangabad regions), which produce the world's finest Stilbite specimens in association with Apophyllite, Scolecite, and other zeolites. The Deccan Traps are one of the world's largest volcanic provinces, formed by massive lava flows approximately 66 million years ago — coinciding with the mass extinction event at the end of the Cretaceous period. Other sources include Iceland, Scotland, the Faroe Islands, Nova Scotia (Canada), and the United States.
Mineral Class / Geology
Stilbite is a hydrated sodium calcium aluminosilicate (NaCa₄(Si₁₇Al₇)O₄₂·14H₂O) belonging to the Zeolite group within the Tectosilicate mineral class, with a hardness of 3.5–4 on the Mohs scale — it is a soft mineral; handle with care. Zeolites form when volcanic rocks — particularly basalt — are altered by low-temperature hydrothermal fluids or groundwater. The cavities and vesicles (gas bubbles) in ancient lava flows provide the perfect environment for zeolite crystals to grow slowly over millions of years. Stilbite's characteristic bow-tie or sheaf-of-wheat crystal habit is caused by the intergrowth of multiple flattened, monoclinic crystals in a fan-like arrangement. Stilbite contains significant amounts of water within its crystal structure — up to 14 water molecules per formula unit — which is released when the mineral is heated. This water content is believed to contribute to Stilbite's reputation as a deeply hydrating, emotionally soothing stone.
Colors
Stilbite displays a soft spectrum of peach, salmon, apricot, and white to colorless — the peach color caused by trace iron within the crystal structure. Tumbled Stilbite has a smooth, silky surface that reveals its warm, gentle tones beautifully.
Metaphysical Properties
Stilbite is known as the Stone of Unconditional Love, Inner Peace, and Restful Sleep. It is one of the gentlest and most heart-opening stones in the crystal kingdom, carrying a soft, expansive energy of pure love and deep inner stillness. It resonates with the Heart and Crown Chakras and is used to open the heart to unconditional love and self-compassion, calm the mind and support deep, restful sleep, reduce anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm, enhance intuition and psychic sensitivity in a gentle, grounded way, support the release of grief, loss, and emotional pain, enhance meditation and the experience of inner stillness, and bring a profound sense of peace, love, and being held.
